Coronavirus – Letter from the Trust

Please find below a letter from the Trust concerning Coronavirus.

Further to the announcement by the Prime Minister last night the Trust is writing with more information about how this will affect our individual schools and the provision we will be making.

It is unsustainable to keep all schools open with very small numbers of children who qualify. We will therefore be closing Charsfield, Dennington, Fressingfield, Great Whelnetham, Occold, St Peter and St Paul Eye, Stradbroke and Wortham Primary Schools completely from Friday 20th of March.

Work will be sent home for children to complete and please keep checking school’s websites because we will add more tasks and activities depending on how long our schools are closed and the health and capacity of staff.

We intend to keep All Saints, Laxfield Primary open for key workers, EHCP pupils and those with an assigned social worker. You need to contact your school office to let them know if you will be taking up this offer and why you qualify.

Laxfield will be open to pupils who qualify each day from 9am until 3.30pm initially until Easter and we will then review these hours.

Please keep checking the Trust Coronavirus website for the latest information:

Finally, I would like to thank parents, carers, our staff, pupils, Governors and the Trust Board who are all working together to ensure that we are looking after our school communities in this difficult time. We will all keep communicating to ensure that the latest information is shared. It is with sadness that we close our school doors tomorrow and we wish all our families good health. We hope to see you again soon.

Thank you for your support,

Melanie Barrow,
CEO
