Our topic is ‘Rainforest’. We aim to incorporate this across other subjects for a creative curriculum. Here is a snippet of what we shall be doing.
Non-fiction and information texts about rainforests and the animals found there. Poetry linked to rainforests and the senses. Setting descriptions using adjectives.
Time, properties of 2D and 3D shape, number and place value, money, addition and subtraction.
Weather; compare weather in England to weather in rainforests. Making rain catchers. Life cycles of rainforest frogs.
Rainforests; location (maps/continent/country), comparing to other parts of the world.
Exploring texture, pattern and printing using different media. Wax and water colour reptile and plant paintings. Animal craft.
Values & Beliefs
Christianity; Disciple/faith. Why do Christians trust Jesus and follow him?
Crossfit and multi skills/ athletics.
Using Word to type Rainforest information/facts.
Charanga- ‘use your imagination.’
PE is on a Tuesday and Friday
Please ensure your child has a full, labelled school kit for all weather use.
Homework shall be sent home on a Thursday, in by the following Wednesday. If books are not handed in homework sheets can be found on the class door.
Every Friday children will have a spelling test.
